Maritime Festival

CLIENT - BELFAST CITY COUNCIL & MARITIME MILE

As part of Belfast’s Maritime Weekender festival, we developed creative and innovative ways of working through co-design and partnerships.

Our co-design process gave the participants ownership of the process while protecting the creative integrity of the artists and performers. Our extensive knowledge of artistic practitioners and our range of creative approaches to delivery allowed us to find innovative artistic outputs. 

We were facilitators and curators. 

We listened to diverse perspectives and contributions from the community. 

We identified the artists/performers who were best suited to respond. 

Our artists devised engaging spaces and events for the community and allowed us to co-create creatively.

Our project had three elements, Work, Rest and Play.

My favourite part was “Play” where we brought together circus performers and choreographers with the Lagan Curragh community. Through the telling of stories and spending time on the river a beautiful and daring performance was created. I cried with joy.
