Causeway Coast Street Art

CLIENT - CAUSEWAY COAST & GLENS BOROUGH COUNCIL

Causeway Coast & Glens Borough Council invited us to help revitalise town centres across the borough as they began to recover from the impacts of Covid-19.

We commissioned high-quality street art inspired by local identities, culture and heritage, creating more welcoming and vibrant town centres and encouraging people to spend more time there.

We kicked off in Limavady with a ‘street art jam’ where 6 artists painted in entryways off the High Street. Next, two artists painted large-scale murals in Ballymoney, Coleraine, Portstewart and Portrush. We finished with 5 artists painting doorways in Ballycastle’s often-overlooked Castle Street.

More information on the artists and artworks has now been published as an online street art trail:

The success of the project surpassed all expectations. Causeway Coast & Glens Borough Council showed creativity and confidence in delivering this project, which allowed us to deliver ambitious, high-quality artworks that received overwhelming public support. The project has highlighted that local communities are open to and enthusiastic about more creative approaches to town centre development and placemaking.
